My freelance assignments center around impact management, research and evaluations, to contribute to the development of initiatives at the intersection of art, culture and societal opportunities. Quick understanding allows me to easily contextualize results; I create new insights through openness and in-depth interaction. I draw conclusions based on facts in their context. In 2022 an evaluation for World Press Photo allowed me to dive into the world of phtojournalism and I assessed how the new strategy of the organization allows phtographers to tell stories from all over the world, using different visual languages. I am currently also greatly enjoying working for the Prince Claus Fund on a learning journey on how cultural foundations and funders can imrpove their practice to alow the forces of art to flourish. In 2021 I reviewed the evaluation system of an arts and culture program at Hivos; mainly by learning from maker communities about what are useful ways of evaluating for them. In 2022, I will also be contributing to the ongoing development of future thinking labs, and, as a board member, continue to support the professionalization of Leiden Shorts film festival. How do I work? I flourish in new environments; I am self-reliant and take up challenges with a personal approach. I work on the basis of inclusiveness and attach importance to involving different perspectives.
